I'm reintroducing myself to street fashion and clothing in general. I realise many people take their streetwear seriously and reading athlesisure designer's journeys in the fashion world is really inspiring me to look closer at who these designers are and their design philosophy and the clothing they create. The colours and aesthetique, the silhouette, the brand mark, how it all feeds into this image you get to experience. And go onto purchase if you so choose. 

Preston, is one of my favourite words, so to find a brand with the name Preston in it is sincerely a good thing. Heron Preston, which also reminds me of Gil Scott Heron, another evocatively bespoke name.

Heron Preston is the name of the designer, his label provides workwear/casualwear for men and women. He looks to speak to the next wave of culture and to produce work that is not environmentally destructive. After seeing a banner in a showroom that stated “Second To Oil, Textile And Apparel Industry Is The Most Polluting In The World, So Let’s Change That.” the designer now repurposes discarded PVC and other material that would go to landfill in his designs. 

His credentials infuse his work, a Parsons School of Design graduate, who has worked for Nike and designed most of Kanye Wests tour merchandise. His designs are Italian made, the stories he tells fresh and innovative. Click the link below to shop his merchandise.

A-Cold-Wall A-Cold-Wall is a luxury streetwear label founded by Samuel Ross, another Kanye West, Virgil Abloh alum. Brixton born, but raised in Northampton. Trending Street Fashion Brands 2020 - Kith

Kith This brand is really onto something. Stocking its own label and other products, you will find mens,womens,kidswear and candy?!  It is a really well put together store, which looks to push innovation and quality in the shopping experience. It was started by Ronnie Fieg in November 2011.   Fieg was originally manager and head buyer for a retail store when he did a few collaborations with Asics on some sneakers, they sold out, he went onto more sneaker collaborations, and a new designer/producer was born. Trending Street Fashion Brands 2020 - Cav Empt

Cav Empt This is one of the few streetwear brands I see that has a definite point of view. Its three founders worked for A Bathing Ape and BBC before deciding to launch Cav Empt.  The name comes from a Philip K Dick novel Ubik, where the character Pat Conley has "caveat emptor" (buyer beware) tattooed on her shoulder. Available now for 9 years, a browse through the online store is a trip through a surrealist 80s nostalgic landscape. I saw some really great pieces that are very wearable. They have a very select-limited print which quickly sells out, I like that the clothes are Made in Japan, which has a traditional focus on quality, skillsmanship and care over what you produce in a way that few other countries do.
