Trending Street Fashion Brands 2020 - Cav Empt
Cav Empt
This is one of the few streetwear brands I see that has a definite point of view. Its three founders worked for A Bathing Ape and BBC before deciding to launch Cav Empt. The name comes from a Philip K Dick novel Ubik, where the character Pat Conley has "caveat emptor" (buyer beware) tattooed on her shoulder.
Available now for 9 years, a browse through the online store is a trip through a surrealist 80s nostalgic landscape. I saw some really great pieces that are very wearable. They have a very select-limited print which quickly sells out, I like that the clothes are Made in Japan, which has a traditional focus on quality, skillsmanship and care over what you produce in a way that few other countries do. It also helps the brand that its founders have experience in graphic design and clothing production.
